Great! Appreciable if you could include the list of all the characters and their descriptions a VIN could possibly contain.

Many other websites provide such info but not with recent additions.

Is it possible to use a vin# and go to a web sight to find out about parts for your car. For example I have a car that I need to know what type of transmission it has. They wont to know if it is a locking differential or a non-locking differential. But no one seems to be able to tell me how I can check or what it means. If this is possible and there is a web site can you tell me what the web site address is.

If not someone should get it together and put one together for the people that need the information. So it doesn’t take months of research to get your car repairs done without going to a dealership where we all know you get gouged.
